Twangfest returns with three nights of Americana, soul, and indie music

Twangfest returns to Off Broadway this weekend for its 27th year. Produced by music-loving volunteers, the nonprofit festival continues its mission of connecting audiences with both acclaimed performers and exciting new discoveries. The festival kicks off Thursday with ClassicTwang, featuring outlaw-country favorites Dale Watson and Chuck Mead. During Friday’s SoulTwang, the Playadors will pay tribute to Stax Records, in addition to a set from Freedom Affair. And on Saturday, the fest wraps up with IndieTwang, showcasing River Shook, Rosali, and Candi Jenkins.

Catch a free screening of the acclaimed 1994 documentary. It's part of the Film & Media Archive at WashU Libraries’ ongoing celebration of Kartemquin Films, the prestigious house that donated its entire collection to WashU in 2020. Hi-Pointe Theatre.
