Southwest Seating
After 53 years of allowing passengers to pick their own seats, Southwest Airlines plans to begin assigning seats. The airline says the change is in response to consumer preferences. Southwest also plans to add premium seating, as well as red-eye flights. There is no set date for the seating changes. Customers can also rest easy knowing there has been no mention of changing the airline’s policy of two free checked bags.
Vineyard Yoga
The historic Elms Hotel & Spa in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, is partnering with nearby Fence Stile Vineyards, Winery & Distillery to offer “Yoga in the Vines” on September 7 from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Open to all skill levels, this outdoor morning yoga session will be followed by a sound bath and wine tasting. Tickets are $65 and available here.
Whiskey-Fueled Holidays
Beginning November 11, the Tennessee Whiskey Trail will launch Carols and Barrels, a holiday tasting program. Running through January 5, it will include holiday-themed decorations and cocktails, as well as entertainment at participating distilleries and tasting rooms.
