A message from Jen Roberts

Last week, while in La Paz, Mexico, I met two women on the bus to Playa Balandra, a beach that’s famous for its shallow turquoise waters. Bérangère (a 70-year-old from the south of France), Natalia (a 23-year-old from Mexico City), and I struck up an unlikely friendship: Three generations, three countries, and three languages. Yet we spent the day talking and laughing in a blend of all three. At one point, someone on the beach asked how we knew each other, noting that we could be a grandmother, mother, and daughter. It was a fleeting but special connection, the kind that makes travel so magical. The best part is that these moments aren't limited to farflung destinations. Whether a distillery in Missouri, a nearby national park, or an odd roadside attraction in the Midwest (all featured in this newsletter), they can happen anywhere. Safe travels!
