One of the coolest parts of my job is the amazing families I get to meet on the regular. I’m constantly awe-inspired by the parents, grandparents, kids, and more who create this community, including:
🧁 Small business owners like Lia Holter of Made. by Lia craft bakery, who is lifting up St. Louisans with her truly beautiful cakes and her vulnerability. Learn more about her below.
❣️ Nonprofit founders like Nawal Abuhamdeh, who took her child’s desire to do good and turned it into a national organization that allows others to do the same. Find out more in this newsletter.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll probably say it 1,000 times more: It really does take a village, and there isn’t a better village than St. Louis. Wishing you a wonderful week with the ones you love!

St. Louis-based Salam Scouts welcomes its inaugural season
This spring, the locally founded, national nonprofit is prioritizing humanitarian outreach and community-building causes in its first season.
👭 The organization: Salam Scouts, a 501c(3) nonprofit affiliated with the Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis, “empowers young Muslims to become confident, compassionate leaders.”
💕 The inspiration: The founding of Salam Scouts was initially sparked by the group's bracelets for Palestine fundraiser last spring, which raised $16,885 for Palestine Children's Relief Fund and $9,172 for MATW.
📿 How it works: Salam Scouts troops, which include both girls and boys, can sell whatever they choose—bracelets and beyond—to raise money for a list of vetted organizations.
To join Salam Scouts or start a troop, families can visit salamscouts.org.
