A message from Veronica Theodoro

It’s another snowy day. Fortunately, I braved Schnucks earlier in the week, along with so many of you. Thank you to the nice attendant at the self check-out line. Despite the size of my cart—well beyond the 15-item limit—she waved me through so that I could check out quickly and get back home.

On the design front, it’s a busy time. This week, I’m announcing the news that Castle Design is moving west. I also have a story for you about an upcoming applied arts exhibit, featuring the work of local interior designers, at St. Louis Community College Meremac. Last week, I decided to stop into The Dollhouse in Kirkwood. I had a glass of champagne (it was Valentine’s Day) and made a note of some of my favorite things in the studio/shop. Check out what made my list in the roundup below.

And, I’m getting super excited for this year’s Architect & Designer Awards party on April 1. Tickets are on sale now and I can’t wait to see you there.

Until next week!

On the Move

In August, Castle Design will bid farewell to its beloved Clayton Road headquarters. The high-end interior design design firm–the largest in St. Louis–is moving west to Warson Road near Olivette. More details will be announced later this year, but word from the firm is that the new space will better accommodate its growing team.

Nominate Your Favorite Rehab

Landmarks Association of St. Louis wants to hear from you. The local nonprofit is calling for nominations to its 2025 Most Enhanced Awards. The annual event recognizes individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the restoration and adaptive reuse of historic architecture in the St. Louis area. The nomination period is open through April 4.

“The Queens of Crime”

My bookclub–or, better said, the bookclub I’m rejoining after a multi-year absence–is discussing author Marie Benedict’s “The Queens of Crime” later this week. Next Monday, February 24, the bestselling novelist will be at the St. Louis County Library for a presentation and book signing.

A kitchen designed by Lauren Sweet-Schuler will be featured in the show
