Temperatures in St. Louis should return to the 60s in the coming days. Unfortunately, the warmup won’t come before St. Louis CITY SC’s 2025 season opener on Saturday night. I’ve set aside several layers of clothes, along with a pack of HotHands, in preparation for this weekend’s match at Energizer Park. I’m also eyeing some of the new concession items at the stadium to figure out what might help me keep warm. In this edition, we dive into all of the new local food options coming to the newly rebranded facility this season. We also profile each player on CITY’s roster, revisit the team’s recent kit reveal, and more. Until next time, enjoy the game!

What to know
PUNDITS CAN’T QUITE FIGURE OUT CITY’S FORTUNES IN 2025
The analysts of MLS.com have filed their predictions for the coming season. Where will St. Louis finish in the Western Conference? It seems to be anyone’s guess. Out of the nine season picks, CITY is picked to finish as high as fourth and as low as 15th—in other words, dead last.
ESPN RANKS CITY’S NEW PRIMARY KIT AMONG MLS’ WORST
You can count the Worldwide Leader among the many who sneered at the recently unveiled Forever CITY Red kits. “St. Louis have really leaned in on their unique shade of red to make up the entire visual identity to this point, and there is value in a color that pops like that, but at some point they should probably make a kit worth remembering,” ESPN’s Ryan Rosenblatt writes. You can see the full league-wide jersey rankings here.
ST. LOULIGANS, STL SANTOS ANNOUNCE PREGAME PLANS
You know the drill by now. The Louligans will host their usual pregame street party at Schlafly Tap Room beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday. This weekend’s Charity Du Jour is Monarch Immigrant Services. (The game-day fundraisers drew $45,000 in donations last season.) The Santos, meanwhile, will be back at Pepper Lounge, where they’ll be playing Latin music, swinging at a piñata, and offering food from Mama Pacha Sabor.
