A message from SLM Staff Writer Cheryl Baehr

For a little over a year now, STL Yoga Collective founder Shannon Lenzen has been creating space for those who want to explore wellness-focused cannabis microdosing though her yoga events, which she describes as mini retreats. I’m thrilled that she took the time to speak with SLM about her venture and why it's time to break the stigma around mindful consumption. Between her work, as well as big name local brands like 4 Hands Brewing getting into the THC beverage market, there is so much to be excited about across the local cannabis scene. Until next time, have a wonderful autumn!

The Scoop

šŸŗ BUD-WISER

4 Hands Brewing enters the THC beverage market

4 Hands Brewing, one of St. Louis’ most popular craft beer brands, is getting into the cannabis beverage game with its new line of THC sparkling drinks. The initial three varieties—energizing Zest, relaxing Trop, and balanced Raz—will be available beginning November 7 at 4 Hands breweries and statewide on November 10. Says 4 Hands founder Kevin Lemp, ā€œā€œWe’re excited to take our curiosity, craftsmanship, and talent for innovation into a new space, creating beverages that are bright, balanced, and built for moments of connection, creativity, and calm.ā€ Read more about the drinks and how the brewery hopes to grow in this space in beer expert Jordan Palmer’s SLM article.

ā™»ļø WASTE NOT

Monarch Waste now offers vape recycling at area dispensaries

Monarch Waste Co., Missouri’s first cannabis waste company, announced a new partnership with area dispensaries that will help reduce vape waste. Customers can now drop off used all-in-one disposable cannabis vape pens at kiosks located inside Current Cannabis, The Heights Cannabis, and three SWADE locations (Cherokee Street, Delmar Boulevard, and Manchester Avenue). Through proprietary recycling processes, Monarch is then able to collect the used vapes and safely remove the lithium ion batteries inside of them, so they are recycled instead of discarded in a landfill. Learn more about Monarch’s efforts here.

šŸ¤ JOINT EFFORT

Local cannabis nonprofit Joint Effort STL launches emergency food security fundraiser

With many Missouri families set to lose SNAP benefits on November 1, local nonprofit Joint Effort STL, a philanthropic collective of St. Louis cannabis community leaders and enthusiasts, is trying to ease some of the pain through a new fundraising initiative. The campaign, dubbed Table for All, is an emergency drive that will help families bridge the gap to food security until assistance resumes. You can find out more and donate here.
