Last year on 4/20, St. Louisans were celebrating the first cannabis holiday of legal adult-use marijuana. Even with a year of recreational use under our belts, things still felt brand new—this newsletter wasn’t even yet a spark in a nicely packed bowl. Now, as 4/20 rolls around again, we’re excited to be a resource and to help create community. Along those lines, you’ll notice this newsletter arriving at the beginning of the month, rather than the end—a subtle change to provide info for the month ahead. However you plan to celebrate, we hope this month’s 4/20 festivities are the best yet.

Fat Stoner Babes hiking club kicks off season
A few years ago, Amber Strautkalns made a plea on Reddit looking for fellow cannabis-friendly, non-fitness junkie hiking enthusiasts: “Fat stoner babes hiking club?? Where do I find them? Or do I need to create?!?!” An overwhelming response gave birth to Fat Stoner Babes hiking club, a low-key group whose members come from all walks of life. The group kicked off its third season on March 23 and encourages anyone who is interested in joining to check out the group’s Facebook page.

St. Louis’ WellBeing Brewing acquired by CBD Kratom parent company
WellBeing Brewing, a pioneer in the non-alcoholic beer industry, was recently acquired by MNG 2005, Inc, the parent company of CBD Kratom, which signals the brand’s move into the functional beverage space. As Jordan Palmer writes, the sale will provide WellBeing “with the financial backing, retail footprint, and distribution network needed to scale operations and expand its product offerings,” including a forthcoming line of THC-infused beers. Check out Palmer’s story to learn more about what this means for St. Louis’ growing cannabis beverage market.
