As we meet in the midst of a genuinely glorious reprieve from the frigid temperatures and snowy weather of the last few weeks, it’s hard to focus on anything other than spring. Granted, it is the end of February; we still have much cold and gray ahead of us. However, there are so many indications of the warmer times ahead, and not just the current reading on our outdoor thermometers. Mardi Gras always feels like a glimmer of hope for brighter—and longer—days, and this year, the STL Home Growers are hosting a canna-friendly event to celebrate the holiday. Talk about giving new meaning to the term “laissez les bons temps rouler.”
The kind folks at The Garden Shop also have spring on the brain and are getting growers ready for the upcoming planting season with their inaugural cannabis-themed Sip & Soil event. The co-hosts share how they hope to merge the shop’s traditional gardening focus with indoor and outdoor cannabis projects well beyond this one event. One takeaway: It will be an emerging resource for those interested in the cultivation side of cannabis.
Kimberlee Kesterson and Jessica Carroll, co-founders of the 4,200 member-strong STL Cannamoms, also share insights about how they have made it their mission to create a community for cannabis caregivers while breaking the sigma associated with consumption and parenthood.
We also want to hear from you: Are there other aspects of the St. Louis cannabis community that you’d like to see covered? Drop us a line and let us know what you think.
