A MESSAGE FROM MANAGING EDITOR CHRISTINE JACKSON

I’ve said plenty here about my reading habits, but I just know my already daunting to-be-read list is about to get longer: The Novel Neighbor is hosting the grand opening of its new romance-specific mini shop concept, Open Door Romance, on August 17. I’ll be checking it out a little early this week, and you can bet I’ll be leaving with a couple of new additions to my shelf from its collection of rom-coms, historical romances, BookTok faves, and much more. Learn more about the lovely new shop below. As always, thanks for subscribing, and feel free to reply to this email with your thoughts, ideas, and questions. Until next time!

A classic is returning to The Muny’s stage next week. Set sail with a side-splitting cast of characters in the theater’s production of Anything Goes, directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge. This Cole Porter Broadway favorite features a handful of beloved tunes from the Great American Songbook, including “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “You’re the Top,” and, of course, “Anything Goes.” August 19–25. The Muny, 1 Theatre.

Paranormal Investigation of The Sheldon

The Sheldon is the place to be this week for those who fully embrace the Summerween spirit. On Friday night, The Sheldon will invite attendees to come along as Gateway Regional Investigations of the Paranormal (GRIP) investigates the 112-year-old concert hall. And it isn’t just a chance to observe: Daring visitors can take advantage of paranormal investigation equipment (infrared cameras, K2 meters, dowsing rods, temperature monitors) provided by GRIP team members, who will also offer short tutorials. August 16. The Sheldon, 3648 Washington.
